Sunday June 8th: Breaking News!!!!!We have alot to announce this week, I am very excited that I can offiaially say I will be piloting a sprint car at Slayton this Friday thanks to Chris Reiley!!!!!
We are also still doing the "Pink My Ride" fundraiser, Our hearts go out to our friends Jodie and Justin Olsen, Their 2 year old daughter Jordyn has had a year long fight with cancer, kemo treatments, surgery, bone marrow transplants, and this last week she was to go in to get the remaining cancer removed. Once the doctors got to the tumor they found that it was cemented into place and cannot remove it. We regret to say it is terminal,may you enjoy the time you have with loved ones, for one never knows when they will be gone. You have our thoughts and Prayers.
On a Happier note we went to Rock County on June 7th for the first time EVER, We were late as we are almost every night so I didn't get to hotlap. Turns out I didn't even get to complete a lap in the heat either due to Oil Pressure issues, so I had to start dead last in the Feature, 14th. With a very narrow racing surface I thought there no way I would be able to get up front, especially without turning ANY LAPS WHATSOEVER before this race.
I started out cautious not wanting to get involved in the first lap pile up that I thought was inevidible, I was wrong AGAIN, so I started to put my foot on the loud pedal and make some moves making my way into 7th before the first caution around lap 5. The restart was good as I jumped to the high side going into turn one and got by a couple more cars right away, a few laps later I was into 3rd and fighting very hard with Groenwold,Prins and the #9 who was leading the race wire to wire, the four of us were in a tight pack where one error would have sent us all wrecking....on the white flag lap I made the pass for the lead going into turn one and we banged all the way down the backstraight, clearing him I slid up to the top and he tried to give me the old "bump and run" in the middle of 3&4, so instead of drifting up the track and opening up the bottom I checked up and pitched it down low, we were door to door coming down the front schute and I beat him by a few feet.
